Q) I have two questions. I read that some women have sex with animals such as dogs, is this true? Also I heard it is dangerous for humans to have sex with a dog, why is that? April 05, 2008: MJ in NJ.
A) Your question requires several answers:
(1) Yes, women tend to have sex with animals more than men. Some women do have sex with animals. It is illegal in most countries including the United States. Laws vary from state to state.
(2) When a male dog mates with a female dog, it is different than when humans have intercourse. A man is almost always fully erect when inserting his penis in a female. But male dogs insert their penis when it is only partially erect so that it can get control of the female and at the same time know that the female is accepting him. Unlike humans where the penis size is not based on male build, in contrast the larger the dog the larger the penis size.
(3) The reason sex with any animal is dangerous is primarily because of disease.
(4) Since most dogs’ penis size is directly related to their physical size, most of the dogs humans have sex with are German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, full size Collies, and Rottweilers.
(5) Sex with a dog is particular dangerous because as explained the dog is not fully erect, but once inside the female the male dog’s penis enlarges. Along with a sack at the rear of the penis swell up. This is often called the penis knot or bulb. The technical term in breeding dogs is called the ‘Bulbus Glandis.’ This swelling is located toward the rear end of the penis. As soon as the male dog inserts his penis into the bitch's vagina and begins to thrust, the bulbus glandis enlarges to a firm spherical shape, resulting in the so-called "coital tie." This tie prevents the male dog and the bitch from separating immediately after ejaculation and may last from 5 to 60 minutes. In other words it could be painful and even cause injury to the female vagina. In addition, the male dog may bite you if you try and stop. Dogs don’t know about that magic word women like to use on men, called ‘NO!’

Q) I heard my grandfather use the term ‘Jesus Nut’ what is it?
April 06, 2008: Becky Stanton.
A) The only true reference is referring to the old Bell Helicopters used in the Korean War, the ones you see in the TV Show MASH. The Jesus Nut is a giant nut that held the rotor on. If the nut came off, you were talking to Jesus (God).

April 08, 2008: Cybil Honn.
A) He may have a mild case of ‘Satyriasis.’
An unscientific term that is used to refer to sexual behavior or desire in men that is considered "excessive" or "abnormal." It is the male analogue of the more common term "nymphomania in women."

April 09, 2008: Sally H.
A) Actually there are two:
1 - In December 2006 A 67-year-old Spanish woman in Barcelona, Spain became the world's oldest mother after she gave birth to twins. The woman gave birth to twins by caesarian section after having previously undergone in vitro fertilization in the United States. Her name has never been released.
2 – A 67-year-old Romanian woman in Bucharest on January 16, 2005 gave birth to twin girls through birth Fertility treatment.
3- Before this the previous record was held by an Italian woman age 62.

Q) What really is a ‘hymen?’
April 10, 2008: Rose Meriweather.
A) The hymen is a fold of tissue that partly covers the entrance of the female vagina. It occurs or exists in most women from birth. Sexual intercourse tears an intact hymen, and so an intact hymen is viewed as a sign of virginity in a woman in every known culture. However, the hymen is often torn through non-sexual activities such as riding a bicycle. Many women lose their hymen (virginity) through sexual activity other than intercourse such as masturbation or allowing a man to finer them. It should be noted that some women are born without a hymen.

Q) What is face blindness?
April 12, 2008: Amber Totes
A) Imagine an entire day of seeing faces of friends, co-workers, even family but not being able to retain those images in your mind.
An Example of Face Blindness: For 48-year-old Kiki Latimer, each time she sees someone it is often like the first time. She has face blindness.
She first realized she had a problem in her 20s while working at a youth hostel. "One particular guest came back every week, and every time I didn't recognize him. He started to look at me like I was a fruitcake."
Face blindness, also known as prosopagnosia, is an impairment in the ability to recognize faces. Usually prosopagnosics are able to actually see the features on a person's visage with no difficulty; it is the retention of those images that challenges them.
Most of us have difficulty recognizing a face at one time or another. But prosopagnosics have trouble identifying others whom they have met repeatedly, or even lifelong acquaintances, including close friends or family members.

Q) What is the real truth behind the so-called Hatfield’s and McCoy’s famous Feuds?
April 13, 2008: Dave Thomas
A) The most infamous feud in American folklore, the long-running battle between the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, may be partly explained by a rare, inherited disease that can lead to hair-trigger rage and violent outbursts.
Dozens of McCoy descendants apparently have the disease, which causes high blood pressure, racing hearts, severe headaches and too much adrenaline and other "fight or flight" stress hormones.
No one blames the whole feud on this, but doctors say it could help explain some of the clan's notorious behavior.
"This condition can certainly make anybody short-tempered, and if they are prone because of their personality, it can add fuel to the fire," said Dr. Revi Mathew, a Vanderbilt University endocrinologist treating one of the family members.
The Hatfield’s and McCoy’s have a storied and deadly history dating to Civil War times. Their generations of fighting over land, timber rights and even a pig are the subject of dozens of books, songs and countless jokes. Unfortunately for Appalachia, the feud is one of its greatest sources of fame.
Several genetic experts have known about the disease plaguing some of the McCoy’s for decades, but kept it secret. The Associated Press learned of it after several family members revealed their history to Vanderbilt doctors, who are trying to find more McCoy relatives to warn them of the risk.
One doctor who had researched the family for decades called them the "McC kindred" in a 1998 medical journal article tracing the disease through four generations.
"He said something about us never being able to get insurance" if the full family name was used, said Rita Reynolds, a Bristol, Tenn., woman with the disease. She says she is a McCoy descendant and has documents from the doctor showing his work on her family.
She is speaking up now so distant relatives might realize their risk and get help before the condition proves fatal, as it did to many of her ancestors.
Back then, "we didn't even know this existed," she said. "They just up and died."
Von Hippel-Lindau disease, which afflicts many family members, can cause tumors in the eyes, ears, pancreas, kidney, brain and spine. Roughly three-fourths of the affected McCoy’s have pheochromocytomas — tumors of the adrenal gland.
The small, bubbly-looking orange adrenal gland sits atop each kidney and makes adrenaline and substances called catecholamines. Too much can cause high blood pressure, pounding headaches, heart palpitations, facial flushing, nausea and vomiting. There is no cure for the disease, but removing the tumors before they turn cancerous can improve survival.
Affected family members have long been known to be combative, even with their kin. Reynolds recalled her grandfather, "Smallwood" McCoy.
"When he would come to visit, everyone would run and hide. They acted like they were scared to death of him. He had a really bad temper," she said.
Her adopted daughter, another McCoy descendant, 11-year-old Winnter Reynolds, just had an adrenal tumor removed at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Teachers thought the girl had ADHD — attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Now, Winnter says, "my parents are thinking it may be the tumor" that caused the behavior. "I've been feeling great since they took it out."
Her adoptive father, James Reynolds, said of the McCoy’s: "It don't take much to set them off. They've got a pretty good temper.
"Before the surgery, Winnter, when we would discipline her, she'd squeeze her fists together and get real angry and start hollering back at us, screaming and crying," he said.
As for the older McCoy’s, "they just started dropping dead of the tumors," he said. "They didn't know what it was. A name wasn't really put on the disease until 1968. That's when one of my brothers-in-law had to have surgery, to have some tumors removed in his brain. They started to notice tumors occurring in each of the family members."
Dr. Nuzhet Atuk at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and geneticists at the University of Pennsylvania studied the family for more than 30 years, Rita Reynolds said.
"They went back on the genealogy and all of that stuff," she said. "They called it madness disease. They said that it had to be coming from the VHL. Our family would just go off, even on the doctors."
Now 85 and retired, Atuk said he could not talk about his work because of medical confidentiality.
Rita Reynolds had two adrenal tumors removed a few years ago. Her mother and three brothers also had them. So do McCoy descendants in Oregon, Michigan and Indiana, she said.
"When you have these tumors, you're easy to get upset," said Rita's mother, Goldie Hankins, 76, of Big Rock, Va., near the Kentucky-West Virginia border. "When people get on your nerves, you just can't take it. You get angry because your blood pressure was so high."
Still, many are dubious that this condition had much of a role in the bitter feud with the Hatfield’s, which played out in the hill country of eastern Kentucky and West Virginia for decades.
Some say the feud dates to Civil War days, when some members of the families took opposite sides. It grew into disputes over timber rights and land in the 1870s, and gained more notoriety in 1878, when Randolph or "Old Randal" McCoy accused a Hatfield of stealing one of his pigs. The hostilities left at least a dozen dead.
"The McCoy temperament is legendary. Whether or not we can blame it on genes, I don't know," said Ron McCoy, 43, of Durham, N.C., one of the organizers of the annual Hatfield-McCoy reunion. "There are a lot of underpinnings that are probably a more legitimate source of conflict."
"There was a lot of inter-marrying" that could have played havoc with the gene pool, he conceded.
Another relative, Bo McCoy, of Waverly, Ohio, said he had never heard talk of the disease although he has been diagnosed with a different adrenal gland problem — Cushing's syndrome.
Even Reo Hatfield, who drafted the "truce" the two families famously signed in 2003 to officially end hostilities, doubted the role of the McCoy’s' disease in the feud.
"I would be shocked" if doctors blamed it on illness, he said.
Altina Waller, a professor of history at the University of Connecticut and author of a book about the feud, agreed.
"Medical folks like to find these kinds of explanations. Like the Salem witchcraft thing. That book came out about how that was caused by wheat that was grown that had this parasite or mold or fungus or something that caused everybody in Salem to go nuts," she said.
"How does it explain the other dozen or so feuds that I've looked at in other places?" she asked, citing disputes over coal and other issues. "The rage and violence as such was not confined to McCoy’s."
She acknowledges that an argument could be made for seeing the McCoy’s as the more aggressive of the clans.
"One of the reasons the McCoy’s don't like me as much in the Tug Valley as the Hatfield’s do is that I seem to suggest that Randal McCoy, the patriarch of the family, was sort of irrational and flamboyant and did jump to, into wanting violence more than, say, Anderson Hatfield," Waller said.
These days, the "feud" has taken a far more civil tone and all but disappeared, members of both families say. The last time it surfaced was in January 2003. McCoy descendants sued Hatfield descendants over visitation rights to a small cemetery on an Appalachian hillside in eastern Kentucky. It holds the remains of six McCoy’s, some allegedly killed by the Hatfield’s.

Q) Can you give me some obscure facts about sex that will make me laugh?
April 14, 2008: Maryann Haas.
A) Yes try these averages:
^^ The average time of intercourse is 4 minutes.
^^ The average strokes per minute are 36.
^^ The average length of a man's penis is 6 inches.
^^ The average girl gets 864 inches of penis per intercourse.
^^ The average American single female has intercourse twice per week for 40 weeks per year, less the time for menstruation cycle.
^^ Using simple math that equals to 1,728 inches or 144 feet of penis per week of intercourse exchange.
^^ So at 144 feet of penis times 40 weeks per year that is an average of 5,760 feet of penis per year or just a trifle over one mile a year.
^^ So Maryann are you getting your mile of penis if not get a new man?

Q) What is the average size of a vagina?
April 16, 2008: Peter Longfellow
A) A vagina can be either relaxed or aroused. When it is relaxed the walls are collapsed against each other and the cervix lays closer to the front. When it is aroused the cervix pulls up and the vagina walls open apart. This makes the vagina longer and wider.
Whether relaxed or aroused, the vagina walls are very elastic and can stretch enormously in length and in width. The difference is that stretching them while relaxed will cause discomfort or pain whereas stretching them during arousal causes pleasure (up until a certain limit of course!)
So The Average Vagina Size is:
Relaxed –
Length is 3.5 to 4 inches
Diameter is < 1 inch
Aroused (“Tented”) –
Length is 5 to 6 inches
Diameter is 1.5 to 2.5 inches
Note: Narrowest at the Vaginal Opening.
Stretched –
Length is 8 to 9 inches
Diameter is 2.5 to 3 inches
Note: More during childbirth

Q) Can you provide me with any Marriage, Infidelity Statistics? I am currently having an affair, this is my second one in 10-years. Also, how many of these affairs do the people their having sex with end up together?
April 17, 2008: Lydia Rush
A) Like this is something shocking now days! How about this reality check:
22% of men have cheated at least once while married.
14% of women have cheated at least once while married.
70% of women and 54% of men did not know of the cheating going on.
17% (very conservative) of all divorces are cause by infidelity.
45-55% of married women 50-60% of married men engage in extramarital sex at some time during their married relationship. (Guess we humans can't keep our pants or panties on).
Those who divorce rarely marry the person with whom they are having the affair with. Actually only 3% of 4,100 men surveyed in a J. Halpers study actually followed through. These 4,100 men were executives, business owners, etc. who subscribed to this study, (upper income people). So I don't know if you fall into that but good luck you home wrecker and you're not alone, LOL.

Q) How do I know I am drinking enough fluids?
April 19, 2008: Genevieve F.
A) There are some simple test you can give yourself. Our bodies do talk to us. So observe the following:
1. If your mouth is dry you need fluids.
2. Look at your urine, one of the best self test methods. If it is clear you are getting enough fluids. If not, you need fluids.
3. Water is the best fluid to use. It is natural and doesn’t give your body any artificial content it doesn’t need.

Q) Should I be afraid of others having Nuclear Weapons?
April 20, 2008: George Michaels.
A) Yes.
Look any massive destructive weapon is bad, often called WMD’s. There is that human tendency to use these weapons when one becomes angry with another. It is even worse when in the hands of a fanatic like Iran or other rogue countries. The problem is that many technological countries sell there weapons or secrets. In the past Pakistan and North Korea have done this. It is also believed that France has done it as well.
Also the fact with Nuclear Weapons when exploded the radioactive fallout travels the entire planet (circles the globe). Many radioactive elements used in bombs take hundreds of years to become safe enough not to be a danger to humans.

Q) I was watching a Law and Order TV segment the other night and one detective said to the other, “Watch you P’s and Q’s.” What does this mean?
April 21, 2008: Bonnie Boudane.
A) Dates back to 1779. It’s from the phrase mind one's p's and q's, alluding to the difficulty a child learning to write has in distinguishing between the letters p and q. In society and daily life when dealing with others it means to be on your best behavior, as in mind your manners. Think before you speak, and don’t be rude no matter how angry you get.

Q) Exactly what are Chiggers?
April 22, 2008: Lance Carmichael.
A) An insect. Probably no creature on earth can cause as much torment for its size than the tiny chigger. Tiny six-legged chigger larvae attack campers, picnickers, hikers, bird watchers, berry pickers, fishermen, soldiers, and homeowners in low, damp areas where vegetation is rank such as woodlands, berry patches, orchards, along lakes and streams, and even in drier places where vegetation is low such as lawns, golf courses, and parks. They are most numerous in early summer when grass, weeds and other vegetation are heaviest. Chiggers do not burrow into the skin, but insert their mouthparts in a skin pore or hair follicle. Their bites produce small, reddish welts on the skin accompanied by intense itching as irritating as acute cases of poison ivory or poison sumac. These symptoms often are the only way of learning that an outdoor area is infested since chiggers are so small that most cannot be seen without a magnifying glass. Chiggers feed on a wide variety of snakes, turtles, birds, and small mammals as well as humans. Chigger mites are about 1/20 inch long, usually bright red, have hairy bodies, and travel rapidly. The larval stage has three pairs of legs whereas the nymph and adult stage have four pairs of legs. There is a marked constriction in the front part of the body in the nymph and adult stage. Larvae are orange, yellow or light red and about 1/150 to 1/120 inch in diameter. Eggs are globular-shaped.
Skin Care and Treatment for Chiggers:
After returning from a chigger-infested area, launder the field clothes in soapy, hot water (125°F.) for about half an hour. Infested clothes should not be worn again until they are properly laundered and/or exposed to hot sunshine. Unlaundered clothes or those laundered in cool water will contain the biting chiggers to again reinfest your skin. As soon as possible, take a good hot bath or shower and soap repeatedly. The chiggers may be dislodged, but you will still have the stylostomes, causing the severe itch. Scratching deep to remove stylostomes can cause secondary infections. For temporary relief of itching, apply ointments of benzocaine, hydrocortisone, calamine lotion, New Skin, After Bite, or others recommended by your pharmacist or medical doctor. Some use Vaseline, cold cream, baby oil, or fingernail polish. The sooner the treatment, the better the results.

Q) Is there a simple test to tell if your eggs are fresh?
April 23, 2008: Janice Jacobs.
A) Yes. Simply take a large deep bowl fill it about 2/3 full with room temperature water. Place the eggs in the water. If the eggs drop to the bottom and lay on their side they are fresh. If they stand upright they are starting to turn. If they float they are no longer fresh and probably should be thrown away. Eggs over a period of time begin to absorb the outside air, which contains bacteria and other harmful elements. These cause the eggs to turn.

Q) What is your opinion of Nuclear Power?
April 25, 2008: Yazees.
A) It’s necessary. The reasons it’s currently not practical are:
1 – Too much government intervention. The government wants to change the rules as they go along. This creates havoc and increases the cost to an exponential number.
2 – Utilities wait until it’s too late to begin construction. These plants can take years to complete.
3 – Utilities are arrogant they think they know more about building and operating a nuclear power plant than the suppliers who create, design, engineer, and manufacturer the systems.
4 – The last problem is also related to the utility companies. They think bigger is better.

Q) What Is the Origin of Life?
April 26, 2008: Jennifer Bayers
A) Abiogenesis or the question of the origin of life.
A difficult one to answer but here goes. There are three accepted beliefs you choose one.
1 – Life sprang up from what is often referred to as the Primordial Ooze. The accepted scientific explanation is that this occurred through natural sciences and evolution. As the world cooled and water developed so did life. This happened slowly around 4.4 billion years ago.
2 – The Religious Factor (belief in God or an almighty being of sorts). Adam and Eve through Noah’s Ark evolved mankind to what it is today.
3 – Seeds of Life or the Alien Factor. Some believe that an advanced civilization added their own seeds of life to our evolving planet. In this scenario two theories have evolved.
The First Theory suggests that a lower genetic form of life seeded Earth at the earliest stages.
The Second Theory suggests that Aliens visited Earth and altered early primal man or apes and that modern man was created. These are the UFO theorist that believe that these same aliens visit Earth periodically to see how we have developed.

Q) What does the Tinker Toy effect mean in building nuclear powered reactors?
April 27, 2008: Mel Torrens
A) Simply that small nuclear prefab reactor assemblies be build and linked in series as needed, like a Tinker Toy assembly. I support this idea. It is less costly. It allows utilities to quickly add power in stages as needed. The concept would be build the concrete foundation pad, buy the self-contained unit, cover it with a concrete dome. Probably 50 Mega Watts as compared to these giant 800 t0 1200 mega watt reactors previously built. Further these would not be refueled; they would be like Nuclear Reactors on board a submarine. When the fuel runs out, you leave the unit in place, and fill the containment dome with concrete. This eliminates vast amounts of nuclear waste and the total need to transport it.
